Hemecker was born in New York City. He attended Bucknell, New York University and the Sorbonne. A student film he shot in Paris led to directing commercials in New York and Los Angeles.  Shortly thereafter he shot the feature film “Double Edge” starring Michael Biehn and Joong-Hoon Park. Hemecker then started directing pilots including “Roar” with Heath Ledger. He directed the pilot for the cult success “Witchblade” and went on to write and run the series for two years. He recently finished an intense run on the ABC series “Once Upon A Time,”  and also shot the spin-off pilot, “Wonderland.” Hemecker has done numerous episodes of “The Flash” and “Blue Bloods.” He recently produced the award-winning documentary, “The Process” featuring Larry Moss and James L. Brooks.
